THE BEGINNING
The establishment of Studio D’ARTE A. MAVROGENIS LTD first, and then of Studio 8, are based on the great history of artistic work and expression of the past. Nowadays, Studio D’ARTE A.MAVROGENIS LTD and Studio 8 achieve to contribute the historical tradition of the past to the present cultural life of Limassol.

Studio 8 is housed to the well-known “MAVROGENIS” artistic workshop which was built by Costas Mavrogenis in the 1960. Having as a motivation his love for art and his passion for new creations, Costas Mavrogenis achieves, in a very short time, to gain the trust of very important bodies and organizations of the city. His unacquired artistic talent was admired, not only throughout his progressive work and ideas during his creations for the Carnival and the Wine Festival of Limassol, but also through scenographies for numerous theatrical performances.


THE PROCESS
The past contributes to the patterns, not only of the present but of the future as well. The past inspires the new generation’s artistic creations combining old styles with new ones.

The art work of Costas Mavrogenis continues successfully today his son, Andreas Mavrogenis, a graduate of the Academy of Arts in Florence.


STUDIO D’ARTE A.MAVROGENIS LTD
Studio D’Arte A.Mavrogenis LTD with its ten year presence to the Cypriot market has deservingly gained an important position to the world of scenography.

Under the personal supervision of Andreas Mavrogenis, Studio D’Arte A.Mavrogenis offers its services to the present’s modern art, by producing scenographies of theatrical performances and of T.V shows as well. The progressive ideas in combination to the right professionalism induced to the establishment of its presence to the field of scenography. For the last few years, many Cypriot television programs and series carry the signature of Studio D’Arte A.Mavrogenis LTD.

STUDIO 8
Studio 8 was established by the scenographer Andreas Mavrogenis and presents a new concept for the distribution of inspirational thoughts and artistic expressions. It is a new integrally designed multi-space characterized by passionate love for both art and creativity. Studio 8 tempts to provoke inspiration for every visitor or artist by combining and presenting old styles with new ones, while approaching the invention of the next generation’s methods and techniques.

What make Studio 8 a multidimensional place are its two main usages. Firstly, it is used as a cultural centre which hosts various events such as interactive exhibitions, pictorial and musical events, experimental dance and theatre groups, book presentations or movie projections. In combination with the advanced technology that Studio 8 possesses, it offers to its visitors a life time experience. Secondly, Studio 8 is used as a school of art for all ages and levels. The progressive program of the painting lessons gives its students the opportunity to choose through a variety of specialties. Moreover, Studio 8 accommodates a theatre class, while being open to meet new ideas and establish more workshops.

AIMS
The philosophy of Studio 8 is based on 8 fundamental aims:
1. To present and promote our county’s cultural heritage throughout art and also to distribute qualitative amusement to the commonwealth.
2. To positively contribute to the development of artistic initiatives that look forward to the progress of the cultural life of Cyprus.
3. To promote and present to other countries the modern cultural development of Cyprus.
4. To utilize contemporary technologies while encouraging creative interaction and producing art.
5. To promote the artistic education through academic programs and competitions.
6. To present the exclusive cultural custom of Limassol through special proceedings.
7. To assist the art education of children and adults throughout pictorial and visual expressive means and progressive academic programs.
8. To help the healthy expression and the creative thought.

THE BUILDING
Studio 8 is housed in a refurbished and integral space, where the artistic workshop ‘MAVROGENIS’ has been accommodated for years. In an unconventionally decorated surrounding, Studio 8 aims to promote the artistic expression and to become a source of knowledge and creativity, while intending to support and carry on the successful artistic tradition of the past to the next generations.

Studio 8 contains various high-tech installations. The place is fully-equipped with modern audio-visual and lighting systems. Whenever Studio 8 hosts an event or exhibition is formed depending to the requirements of the event and can seat 200 persons.

Studio 8 also possesses an electronic LED screen which is considered to be the most potential and promising audio-visual installation.

• Hiring the LED Screen for interior and exterior areas
The fantastic electric LED screen is available for any planned audio-visual presentations. LED screen is made of a luminous panel with millions high-luminary LED. Its great advantage is the low electricity consumption and its long lasting life.

Due to the great size of the letters, the screen is able to be seen from long distance and even across the sun.
